RECORDING & FILMING

The NCEM offers a perfect recording space with a natural acoustic

Renovated to an exceptional standard in 2000, the NCEM boasts triple glazing, silent under-floor heating, dedicated artist facilities, soundproofing and acoustic treatment to tailor your sound.

For live recordings or for studio sessions, the NCEM adapts well and allows you to shut out the outside world and focus your recording in conducive surroundings.

We have a range of well-maintained keyboard instruments available for hire and can recommend a variety of support services – from session engineers through to catering and accommodation.

The venue is well used by a wide variety of early music specialists as well as jazz, folk and contemporary musicians. Linn Records regularly use the NCEM for recordings and BBC Radio 3 broadcasts live concerts throughout the year, including the Early Music Show as part of the York Early Music Festival. A listing of commercial CDs recorded at the NCEM can be viewed at www.discogs.com/label/494672-The-National-Centre-For-Early-Music-York.

Please see the hire pack below for further information and rates. To discuss availability for recording/filming sessions, contact Dr Christopher Roberts, our Operations Manager on 01904 632220 or email events@ncem.co.uk
