I CAN PLAY! SAMBA with LOLLIPOP

Lollipop and I Can Play! come together for an exciting musical morning of Samba Drumming!
You will learn about the different percussion instruments, play some very funky rhythms, and create amazing drumming masterpieces all together, whilst having fun and making friends! No experience necessary!
This session will be delivered by ‘I Can Play!’ music leaders through total communication (spoken and signed). There will be a BSL interpreter present.
Location
The workshop will take place in the Library at Millthorpe School, Nunthorpe Avenue, York, YO23 1WF (best access is via Philadelphia Terrace where parking is available). The session takes place as part of York Music Centre’s Saturday morning music school.
Who is it for?
For D/deaf children, their siblings and Children of D/deaf Adults (CODAs), from the ages of 5 upwards.
Parents/Carers: Participants aged 8 and younger must be accompanied by a parent/carer at all times. Parents of older participants are welcome but not obliged to stay. Parents/Carers are welcome to return at 11.30am to watch an informal musical showcase, demonstrating what we have learned!
Tuck Shop: there is a tuck shop on site which participants are welcome to use at parents’/carers’ discretion. If participants wish to use this, please bring cash.

Accessibility
