Friends of York Early Music Festival bring together those with a special love of early music who wish to support the Festival in the longer term. An informal organisation supported by a part-time Administrator, the Friends offers myriad opportunities throughout the summer Festival to meet others with similar interests and, over the years, many lasting personal friendships have been formed.

The Friends offer particular support to up-and-coming performers in the field of early music by sponsoring, through their special donations, a Friends' Audience Prize for the biennial Young Artists Competition . Previous winners have included the award-winning vocal group Stile Antico (2005), Grand Desir (2009) and Encantar (2011). 

Join as an individual or with a joint subscription for any two friends. Friendship makes an excellent Christmas or Birthday Present. You can buy vouchers as well to send to your friends to help them pay for next year's festival events!
