Join us for a visual and aural feast of music from Renaissance Antwerp combining Obrecht and Barbireau together in this celebration of these two prominent representatives of Franco-Flemish polyphony with connections to the Church of Our Lady in Antwerp around 1500 (today’s Antwerp Cathedral). Obrecht is a master innovator of the cantus firmus technique around he weaves the melodies of his celebratory Missa Sub tuum praesidium. Osculetur me, Barbireau’s only surviving motet, completes the programme.
