Guest artists include violinist Rachel Podger directing her instrumental ensemble Brecon Baroque with recorder virtuoso Pamela Thorby (Sat 7 December, Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, University of York - book here ); medievalists and vocal experts Alamire unveil music from the 15th century in a glorious programme of England Medieval Carols (Sun 8 December, National Centre for Early Music - book here ); Portuguese specialist L'Avventura London led by lutenist Zak Ozmo present Christmas at the Monastery of Santa Cruz (Tues 10 December, National Centre for Early Music - book here ) and the European Union Baroque Orchestra, directed from the keyboard by Lars Ulrick Mortensen and working with musicians from 17 different countries across Europe present the music of Bach, Leclair and Rameau (Sun 15 December, Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall, University of York - book here ).
Highlights also include The Sixteen directed by Harry Christophers presenting Britten's Ceremony of Carols in York Minster on Thurs 12 December - book here .
