Vijay Venkat is a multi-instrumentalist and a composer proficient in several musical genres, specialising in South Indian Classical music (known as Carnatic). He mainly performs on the violin, Indian bamboo flute and the ancient Indian slide instrument called vichitra veena. Vijay is an artist of Indian Council for Cultural Relations of the Government of India and has done a lot of cross-cultural collaborative work with many musicians of different musical styles. He is presently working as an Artistic Associate in Music at Kala Sangam.
